Hi, thanks for accepting me to the Wiki!

Reply To What You Said On My Profile

Well, obviously relevant to Scratch. I mean "random" as in things like:

  • Tower Defense
  • 3D Wireframe Tutorial
  • Updated Multiplayer Tutorial
  • Other Stuff

Bestgameever (talk | contribs) 22:38, 29 April 2014 (UTC)

Oh, OK! I'm planning on that Wireframe one, though. I have an extremely simple method.

Edit #70000!

You've just made the 70,000th edit to the Scratch Wiki with your minor edit to your newest How-To page!
Mathfreak231 (talk | contribs) 13:33, 19 August 2013 (UTC)

You know, that's really funny, because on the forums, I created the 10,000th topic!
Turkey3 (talk | contribs) 13:58, 19 August 2013 (UTC)

Lowercase Username

I noticed on your user page you mentioned that your username is lowercase, but on the wiki it's uppercase. You can use for your sig <scratchsig>turkey3</scratchsig> and on your user page {{displaytitle:User:turkey3}} and it should lowercase your username.

Voting for ourselves

I was informed by blob8108 that we can't vote for ourselves in the admin election. Please fix your vote. Thanks!

Space those ... blocks...

Use . . . instead of ... just so they look non-squishy. ;)

How to tag an image as unsatisfactory

Don't do this: [[Category:Unsatisfactory images]] Do this: {{bad image|Quick explanation of why it is bad.}}

This categorizes the image AS WELL AS adding a readable message that it is unsatisfactory plus a reason why.

On an unrelated note, don't edit war over what Mrsrec does to his talk page; he's allowed to do that.
Mathfreak231 (talk | contribs) 20:15, 27 September 2013 (UTC)

Oh, okay... And sorry, I thought you couldn't delete your talk page but it appears so. But since Ernie already reverted it, I assumed it was alright to do it a second time (secretly under a minor edit). But I learned 2 new things that I won't mess up in the future ;)
Turkey3 (talk | contribs) 21:52, 27 September 2013 (UTC)
Yes, I had made a mistake in that reverting his page so much (I was the one who started it...); it is his talk page, and his right to make how he wants. At least we both know now (and Turkey3, it's not secret; I haven't disabled minor edits).
ErnieParke (talk | contribs) 22:00, 27 September 2013 (UTC)
I know it's not secret; I thought maybe he had minor edits disabled
Turkey3 (talk | contribs) 22:02, 27 September 2013 (UTC)
I was guessing that... And if you can't read this: I was guessing that might've been your motive. At least this scenario is over with and we can both take a breath.
By the way, I took a look at your Creating a Quiz article, and it's looking good so far! Still, I think that the basic and group method should be grouped since they're similar enough, and that another simpler method be introduced, however crummy it may sound to us:
when gf clicked
ask [What is 1+1?] and wait
if <(answer) = (2)> then
  play sound [correct! v]
  change [correct v] by (1)
else
  play sound [wrong v]
end
repeat for 6 questions...
Oh, and one last thing. Whenever I get home from school, and see this one shopping bag, I'm reminded a lot of you and your user icon, so I thought I might take a photo: http://i44.tinypic.com/34fcxoo.jpg
ErnieParke (talk | contribs) 22:29, 27 September 2013 (UTC)
Ha! That's a funny picture. I don't know if you saw that forum topic of the four vegetables stuffed animals someone took a picture of and related them to scratchers. The broccoli was veggie, etc. anyways, back on topic (well, not on topic as to what we're in, but...) I think the 2 methods I have in the article should stay separate because it gradually becomes more complex, you know. Someone might not want such a long script for it. And I guess I could add the above method, too :)
And I just must mention my favorite Lightnin quote while I'm at it: "Everybody repeat after me: Stay on topic! Stay on topic! Stay on topic! XD"
And actually, what inspired me to make this article is the project I'm working on, Scholar 1.0, which is an advanced system like this, and is customizable and user-friendly.
Turkey3 (talk | contribs) 22:51, 27 September 2013 (UTC)
That sounds like a neat project; I would like to look when you finish. Could you maybe drop a link on my talk page when done? And it actually reminds me; I'm planning on adding a rope physics engine to Scratch Wiki, yet I can't get a straight answer out of the AP Physics teacher. Time for experimenting... :/
Anyway, before I do that, nice joke about veggie! I wonder if he's reading this. :P
ErnieParke (talk | contribs) 23:42, 27 September 2013 (UTC)
Ooh, rope physics! Something I can't quite do. That could actually make a great tutorial. And sure, I'll drop you a link, probably tomorrow when it's finished.
Turkey3 (talk | contribs) 23:54, 27 September 2013 (UTC)
I'm really glad to see you guys are bonding well. XD
And I'm too cool to disable minor edits. I'm also too cool to have an animated GIF profile pic, and too cool to have any favorite projects anymore. :P
Mathfreak231 (talk | contribs) 23:56, 27 September 2013 (UTC)
@Mathfreak231: You are too cool to not be on the wiki. ;)
@Turkey3: I can't wait!
ErnieParke (talk | contribs) 02:25, 28 September 2013 (UTC)
@ErnieParke: I'm too cool to make a 100th project yet. Do you guys have any ideas on what I should do? :P
Mathfreak231 (talk | contribs) 12:45, 28 September 2013 (UTC)
An action platformer where you break into a top-secret robot agency in space and must retrieve the super binary data secret file.
Turkey3 (talk | contribs) 13:39, 28 September 2013 (UTC)
I feel like you should do something about the number 100, but what? There are 100-element gems in the world, each of which that you have to rescue? That would be way to much, and even 15 would fit that description (unless it was 1 per level). Maybe, the world is about to end, and you have 100 seconds to save it? Or maybe, you have to get all 100 achievements in a game? And how would you find enough room for that?
Well, here's a possible idea:
The Temple

The tribe...

                                                           Sacred...

Number of 100...

*raspy voice* In our tribe, 100 is precious. 100 days a year, 100 leaves per tree, 100 breaths a minute. It is nature. We are nature, as long as we adhere to 100. Even though Earth has soiled us, we are divine to an extent. Each time we hit 100, we are purer. Never do anything but 100, and you will live well.

*no voice* You nod your head 100 times to show kind agreement to your ancient mom, while taking 100 steps to go back home. You play some ball games, and after awhile, you walk outside to a clearing you like to visit on occasion. The trees tremble as you draw near, but you take to heed. Breathing in the air, you continue walking, leisurely eating berries as you find them. 'Isn't the Earth good enough as it is?' And to make things even more amazing, you were the 100^2 person born in your tribe. Therefore, you were the choosen one to find this amazing steel temple with a huge missile in it. How could things get more epic? Gazing back ahead, you see a divine sign, stopping your heart; a meteoroid, 100 meters across, flying towards the Earth. You have exactly 100 seconds to make it to your steel temple, figure out how the alien's operated the hunk of metal, and save your tribe. Sweat beads down your face, and your heart races; can you make it in time?

If 100 seconds sound too short or something to you, I would recommend adding in little clocks which can extend your time by 5 seconds each time you get one, but use them sparingly. Also, lots of variety will be needed, and coins would be a very nice touch. Maybe powerups could help.

Also, there was this one penguin game that I played where you tried to fly as far as possible. If you got over 2 miles, you won the game, but you needed to buy practically every power-up to do that. Maybe you could do the same thing here?
How do you like it?
ErnieParke (talk | contribs) 17:19, 28 September 2013 (UTC)
Meh. I'm not a huge fan of platformers. I actually asked in the Project Ideas forum, but I don't think I've gotten any replies yet. :P
Mathfreak231 (talk | contribs) 12:17, 29 September 2013 (UTC)

────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────Well, here at least you've gotten something. ;) By the way, how's admin so far?
ErnieParke (talk | contribs) 14:33, 29 September 2013 (UTC)

I think I've gotten ahead of myself. :3
Mathfreak231 (talk | contribs) 14:45, 29 September 2013 (UTC)
So, I guess my talk page is the new town center XD

How to Mark a Page for Deletion

Next time, if you see a page that should be deleted, use the template {{delete}}. This helps make it easier for the people who can delete to know which pages to delete without having to go through every talk page in the wiki. ;)
ErnieParke (talk | contribs) 21:42, 11 October 2013 (UTC)

I know, but I thought posting the reason was better (well, I guess it was quite obvious) but thanks for the notification :—}D
Turkey3 (talk | contribs) 21:44, 11 October 2013 (UTC)
Here (and in most cases), I think the template {{NotUseful}} would be better, so it's open for discussion. Also, sometime soon, we're going to have an AfD-type thing.
veggieman001 (talk | contribs) 21:45, 11 October 2013 (UTC)
Yes, and {{delete}} also has a reason if you need to be clearer or anything. But I agree with veg, notUseful would probably better if it's not blatant vandalism or anything.
Mathfreak231 (talk | contribs) 00:11, 12 October 2013 (UTC)

Hey thanks for the edits!

Thanks for the edits to Scratch 2.0! It was super helpful!

Yes, I know, I hate boredom too :P thanks also for making Project Page!

Re: Scratch 2.0

> Once a project is saved in the Scratch 2.0 editor, it's format will be adjusted to .sb2 and cannot be reverted. This means it cannot open in Scratch 1.4.

Well, actually, you can use the Retro Converter. Not that it's officially supported by the ST, but it might be worth mentioning.

Also, mentioning technical details like .sb2 probably isn't appropriate. :)
blob8108 (talk | contribs) 10:49, 31 December 2013 (UTC)

I knew there was some converters, but I'm talking about official ones made by the Scratch Team.
Turkey3 (talk | contribs) 17:54, 31 December 2013 (UTC)
Thanks, that looks better :)

Nice job in the Lag article!

Great job :) a question, what is the game in the picture called? Thx!

Anamation2.gif KrIsMa user | talk | contribs | edits 00:14, 24 January 2014 (UTC)

Age of Empires III. Super totally fun! A bit violent, though, not that I care :P It came out for PC by Microsoft Ensemble Studios in 2005. Gorgeous graphics, too! And thanks for the complement. :)
Turkey3 (talk | contribs) 01:27, 24 January 2014 (UTC)
no problem! The game looks fun, I want to play it now ;)
Anamation2.gif KrIsMa user | talk | contribs | edits 02:04, 24 January 2014 (UTC)

Dont worry

Don't worry on editing so much. The best thing to do is to use the preview button! But I know sometimes that sometimes it is not possible :) I always sometimes do that too :P
Anamation2.gif KrIsMa user | talk | contribs | edits 02:07, 27 January 2014 (UTC)

I do use the preview button :) It's not that, it's just that after I make my entire edits, right after I save and see the page, I find something else in a new section that can be edited. Paint Editor has always been my favorite article, and it has so many sections, but I just didn't want to make it seem like I'm making all these edits just to up my count.
Turkey3 (talk | contribs) 02:20, 27 January 2014 (UTC)

Wow, I love your poem

Wow! That poem is incredible! Glad you like poetry like me :) I'm not sure if anything you post belongs to scratch now, hope not! Anyways, I have one too! I'm there, yet unseen.

I'm working, in the dust.

I'm listening, yet regretting.

'Why my life, canst end,

with one single word, 5

I cast out of my mouth?'

Shall I die, I'll perish mournfully,

silently, unknown,

because I'm there, yet unseen.

Free verse :)
Anamation2.gif KrIsMa user | talk | contribs | edits 04:04, 29 January 2014 (UTC)

I'm being totally honest with you, I can't stand poetry :P but I know a good poem when I see one, and you are a good poet :) Not sure why I felt like writing a poem, though... Maybe it was the sad movie soundtracks I was listening to... Hmm... Also, my poem was kind of off in rhythm, I guess :p but it's the new style as of now.
Turkey3 (talk | contribs) 04:45, 29 January 2014 (UTC)
I agree with KrIsMa! Your poem is beautiful, no matter about the "style technique" :) - LiFaytheGoblin (Talk|Contributions) 13:35, 30 January 2014 (UTC)
