Please be more respectful in discussions
In the discussion about Sonic vs. Kerbals on my talk page, you were being fairly disrespectful. I am specifically talking about statements like "Your argument is invalid. I'm stating the facts of what ACTAULLY happened on the TBGs, and facts outweight opinions." and "I already invalidated jvvg's argument above. And I invalidated yours as well. Logic defeats opinion."
Whether or not you view those statements as true, it is rather rude to talk down to other users like that. Remember that not everyone has the same view as you, and also remember that this is nothing personal against you or the Kerbal Space Program, and we have different views as to what is fact, logic, and opinion. While polite discussion to resolve disagreements is a wonderful thing, condescension and dismissal of what other users say as "opinion" (once again, remember that other users might see it as more factual than you do) is simply not acceptable.
That being said, if there is something that you think I am not seeing or do not know in that dispute, please tell me, but please do so politely.

Sonic vs. Kerbals
From now on, the policy I am using in adding stuff either related to Sonic or Kerbal is that anyone is allowed to add it provided that it 1. adds to the humor of the article and is 2. not combative (e.g. saying "Kerbal is better than Sonic", "Sonic killed Kerbal", etc.).
jvvg (talk | contribs) 15:19, 23 August 2015 (UTC)
- Ah, okay. In that case, then... perhaps add it back, but maybe tone it down to make it more AF-style?

Do not edit my template to replace it with Kerbals!
Please do not think that User:jvvg/AF/Template:Inaccurate is your own page. It is mine, and you do not have the right to replace content with Kerbals. Do not revert any of my edits back to your's or I can tell jvvg that the Homestar vs. Kerbal has started as well *ahem* TBG *ahem*. Also, please read the history for pages to see the first contributer to be BF10.
Also, some content on it was quite inappropriate for young viewers.

- I just want to say that you actually don't own that page. While you may have created it originally, I technically own the AF Wiki as it is in my userspace. However, in this respect, I think that we should adopt a policy of not replacing jokes others have created without either getting permission from the creator or a bunch of people agreeing that the proposed new joke is better. (In this case, that means we should keep BF10's revision, as TheHockeyist hasn't asked for input from others yet.)

AF Pages
Following the dispute that you and User:PrincessPandaLover have had at User:Jvvg/AF/Sixty-Second Rule, I have written a notice to the two of you at User talk:Jvvg/AF/Sixty-Second Rule. Here it is for your convenience:
“ | Yes, seriously please stop edit-warring. You aren't helping anybody. I have protected this page [the Sixty-Second Rule AF page]. I know this is an ongoing dispute between the two of you (TheHockeyist and PrincessPandaLover), but you need to resolve this without edit-warring on a bunch of pages. It does not matter what your respective opinions are on Sonic and Kerbals, this is beyond that and no longer even seems to relate to trying to maintain the quality of the articles. This seems to have devolved into a personal dispute. I am going to discuss this issue with the other Wiki EWs and admins, and then we will explain further what needs to be done. Until we publish a recommendation for what to do going forward, both of you (PPL and TheHockeyist) may not edit any April Fools' pages for any reason (I will revert any and all edits either of you make to any AF page after the time I post this message and before we publish a recommendation). |

- Noted. This is to some degree personal. I just recommend a straight out policy of banning Sonic/Kerbals entirely if this is to benefit everyone, for an indeterminate period of time. Of course, this is my own opinion, and you guys may have other ideas. I support an outright ban of both Sonics and Kerbals for both of us, and that the mention of these words or any other related words be off-limits.
TheHockeyist (talk | contribs) 16:49, 15 June 2016 (UTC)- Actually, on second thought, I feel like this conflict cannot be resolved between us two. I have tried negotiating with her in the past. All attempts to reach a resolution have failed, and as such, I am asking you and the other EW's to see if a compromise can be reached and that we can end this flame war once and for all.

Of course, this is my own opinion, and you guys may have other ideas. I support an outright ban of both Sonics and Kerbals for both of us, and that the mention of these words or any other related words be off-limits.
- I feel that PPL's obsession had spiraled out of control when she started spamming Sonic literally everywhere. In the Wiki, on the TBGs, etc. I had enough of it. As such, I decided to counteract with Kerbals. She was probably upset because her Sonic content was erased, etc. and the conflict has just grown stale from here. As I have said, I have asked her multiple times to reduce her Sonic content. It hasn't worked. If she could only do that (or better yet - eliminate it entirely), I would not feel the need to retaliate. Sonic irks me. I've had enough. I would be satisfied if Sonic wasn't on every other page of the Wiki, or every other TBG post (the TBG situation has been improving since I was outright banned and the moderators implemented the image ban on her). My Kerbal obsession is nowhere near as out-of-control as her Sonic obsession is. I control my obsession (except in retaliation). She doesn't and insists on making websites "all about her", apparently not understanding the social implementations this has. Both of us are autistic, which means that to some degree, social norms are hard for us. I'm less autistic than she is - I have learned to adapt. I am willing to accept anything as long as the Sonic content goes down by several orders of magnitude, and that we can peacefully coexist.
- I feel that the root cause of our conflict is the Sonic. I was completely okay with it until it exploded everywhere on the Wiki, etc. I feel that every new Sonic edit she makes is a continuation of this explosion and she wants to make the Wiki all about her, as I said. I just want to get it under control and not have every page be on Sonic. I am emotionally charged in this decision, understandably. All I want is for the Sonic content to go several orders of magnitudes down and for peaceful coexistence. I am willing to accept anything, as long as these are in place.
- Keeping this in mind, I would like to ask for formal conflict resolution from you guys. I cannot solve this with her alone. I need a third party to intervene.
- That is all. In the end, I hope the results of this decision will mean no further flaming (or the flaming that does exist will be dampened significantly) and that at least we can coexist on the Wiki without edit-warring each other into oblivion. Thank you.
TheHockeyist (talk | contribs) 17:45, 15 June 2016 (UTC)- I am sorry to be entering this ongoing case however I have a few points to mention. Autism is not an excuse, it may seem that social situations are hard, but reverting peoples edits, is not any form of communication with the other party, and thefore autism cannot be used in this case. There are many people struuggling with autism, many of which I know, and I think that it is wrong to use that to provide a reasons for the decisions and choices that you have made against the community guidelines. I am sorry for intervening but I could not let a comment go like that.
Minerman6 (talk | contribs) 18:13, 15 June 2016 (UTC)- Autism just makes it naturally harder for people to see the other's perspective. It doesn't mean that it isn't possible, but it does mean that autistic people do tend to be self-centric to some degree. It's just part of what comes with autism. It's just how you naturally are, and I can't change that part about myself. I can adapt to see the other's person's viewpoint, but it doesn't come naturally to me. You know what I mean, right?
TheHockeyist (talk | contribs) 18:16, 15 June 2016 (UTC)- Yeah I know what you mean, I know lots of people with it, at lest you are able to adapt, it is not as server, but I dont think that people like PPL want to be "named and shamed" for having autism, thats just my opionion, but you made the comment so you can decide wheather to remove that bit of it.

Hey there, TheHockeyist. Thank you for reaching out with your concerns. As jvvg said, the EWs and admins are currently discussing the possibility of different compromises and are working on coming up with one we feel everyone will agree with. We hope to have it ready soon. @Minerman6, while I'm sure you are only trying to help, this problem is between TheHockeyist, PPL, and the Scratch Wiki EWs/admins. Thank you :)

TheHockeyist (talk | contribs) 18:36, 15 June 2016 (UTC)- Hello, TheHockeyist. I was the first person to complain about the revision restorations, but Jvvg would probably still have reacted even if I didn't leave the message that I did on the talk page.
- Two wrongs don't make a right. Though the Scratch Wiki has too much Sonic content, that fact doesn't justify the addition of Kerbals, which doesn't stop PrincessPandaLover and only adds to the problem. In fact, I feel extremely annoyed that the computer science joke article was Kerbal-fied, as I am very interested in the subject. Your jokes had absolutely no relevance to CS. Kerbal jokes are as equally bad as Sonic jokes.
- As the Scratch Wiki is shared by the entire community, we must make jokes enjoyable for all. Sonic and Kerbal jokes exclude those who are not fans of the video games, who may not understand them. I propose a rule where wiki editors may not continuously write jokes about a single subject. All existing Sonic and Kerbal jokes would be removed (this would also remove the Intel jokes).
Chibi-Matoran (talk | contribs) 19:03, 15 June 2016 (UTC)- I appreciate that you're trying to help, but this is really an issue that is between TheHockeyist, PPL, and the Wiki administration. We are still discussing this issue (we have a tentative plan at the moment, and are waiting on approval from a few people) and hopefully will have the final recommendation tonight.
jvvg (talk | contribs) 19:15, 15 June 2016 (UTC)- I support this idea. I think that the idea of deleting the jokes should also depend on how extensive the content matter is. If the joke only exists on three pages or so (like Kerbals), I don't think that it should be removed. The joke is only on a few pages. It's not extensive enough. But as for the Sonic, I do think that it should be completely removed, or at least dampened enough to only be on three pages. We cannot remove all fan-jokes. We can only limit them to a certain number of pages. I propose that a fandom should only cover three AF articles maximum, and no more. This is to allow people who like the fandom to make a few jokes, while controlling them so that the fandom does not expand and cover the entire AF Wiki. How about this as a compromise?
TheHockeyist (talk | contribs) 19:17, 15 June 2016 (UTC)- I feel like my brain is nuts.
- I also have OCD. Well... Let me give my word.
- Since my obsession started, I felt like this obsession must stay in my head for eternity and I really needed to help that stay if I saw Sonic everywhere. So, that's why I post Sonic everywhere. I'm aware of it, however I cannot rid that feeling. It's an idée fixe.
- ♥PrincessPandaLover Talk | Contributions | Scratch Account 00:50, 16 June 2016 (UTC)
- But: there is no good reason to fixate on Sonic. It's just an irrational OCD thought that ahs stuck with you for a while. And while I do understand that OCD does cause you to become fixated on one thing, it is not healthy. Is there a logical reason why Sonic absolutely must stay in your head for the rest of your life? Other than your own personal fulfullment, probably not. Interests change as you age. Five years from now, you may not even care for the franchise, believe it or not. I think that there is no good reason to become fixated on Sonic other than your personal enjoyment. If you care for Sonic, go ahead. Just make sure to consider other peoples' feelings on the subject before you spew Sonic at them. That was a huge mistake that you made, and as a result, it has caused angry Wiki editors, angry TBGers, angry people who are angry just because you spewed too much at them. If you enjoy Sonic, go ahead, but carefully consider other people. Other people tend to get tired of the same thing after a while. Think before you post. I would recommend having multiple interests rather than only one thing. Maybe you could become interested in chemistry or the Japanese language, for example. Just make sure not to fixate on one thing too much. Consider others' opinions.

This is all I ask. If you are considerate and think about if others could be sick of the thing by now, it would be better for all of us. Try changing things up every hour, if not every day. Even that would be far better. This is my say on the matter.
TheHockeyist (talk | contribs) 01:11, 16 June 2016 (UTC)
Final decision on AF pages
The five of us has come to the conclusion that some of the April Fools' Sonic content is a bit repetitive and has already had its turn to be used during an April Fools' day. However, we feel that TheHockeyist is trying to remove the content simply out of spite and not for the right reasons. That's why we have come to the decision that some of the Sonic content may be changed to support a steady flow of new ideas to keep April Fools' articles from being stale, but not all the content to show that we do not support any sort of personal vendetta of removing Sonic content. We want to see new ideas cycle through on the AF Wiki and we want to see some variety within the pages, and having Sonic on a lot of them isn't conducive to that. That does not mean that there is no place for Sonic (or Kerbals), but they need to be used sparingly in a way that maintains the humor (this means humor for everybody, not just for the poster) and the diversity of ideas.
Thank you for reading, and happy editing!
