Congratulations on becoming a member of the Scratch Wiki! I'm KangaCoder, an Experienced Wikian. If you have any questions regarding the Wiki or want to just chat, feel free to leave a message on my talk page! Cool tips on how to edit
  1. To edit, click the pencil icon at the top of the page next to your username. Then, click edit. If you don't see the button it may be because the page is protected for certain users.
  2. After you are in the editor, check out the cheatsheet for editing tips.
  3. You can also check out the help pages for more detailed information on editing.
  4. You can test editing features out in the community sandbox (it will get cleared every few hours), or you can make your own sandbox here.
  5. Before making a page, make sure it does not already exist. You can do this by using the search bar located at the top of the page.
  6. If the page you wanted to make is already created, you can create a redirect page! For more info on redirect pages, see this.
  7. To make a page, go here, or type the page name you want in the search bar and then press the link that says "create this page by editing this!"
  8. For information on magic words, check out the MediaWiki Documentatation.


Cool tips for finding pages to edit
  1. Use random page
  2. Check out articles to expand
  3. Check out article stubs
  4. Look at edits on recent changes and see what you can do to improve it even more.


Cool tips for posting on talk pages
  1. To post on someone's talk page, simply press the pencil icon and then press "New Topic". Type in the subject and message.
  2. Then, make sure you sign your post with 4 tidles (~~~~)
  3. When replying to a talk page post, edit the section that has the message and then indent your post with a colon (:). If someone already replied, use one more colon then they used. (See example conversation below)

Your welcome template

A welcome template you recently made contains a significant of spelling and grammar errors. There might be a chance that the usage of that template in its current form might make the rest of this wiki seem less likely to use correct spelling and grammar. Although it could be difficult for you, I highly recommend that you fix them, if possible.

When it is complete it will be updated with correct grammar as soon as i get on laptop. I have mainly created it currently for my use when the page is complete it will be corrected. If you suggest I will first move it to my sanbox and will move it to that area later . Can you also state where are the mistakes.

Hi, please see User:Wangat/Sandbox to see the spelling/grammatical/capitalization/punctual errors I corrected in your welcome template. Go into the source code, copy it, and paste it in your welcome template page (be sure to remove all '''; otherwise, your template will have bolded text).
While your template itself did have several errors, I feel like the information you gave for New Wikians is overwhelming. It's best to link to helpful guides to editing, rather than going to S:CPND immediately. I suggest you check out some other users' templates, and consider adding some of the links there (just so you don't overwhelm them!).

Hi!

Two things - first off, I saw you trying to put {{unusedui}} onto a page by using [[unusedui]] and [[template:unusedui]].

Neither of those will work, and the usage should be:
{{unusedui|year={{subst:CURRENTYEAR}}|month={{subst:CURRENTMONTH}}|day={{subst:CURRENTDAY}}}} (just paste that long string there).

Second off, the page you were trying to put it on wasn't a user image, so you would start a discusion on it's talk page and put {{NotUseful|date={{subst:CURRENTMONTH}} {{subst:CURRENTYEAR}}}}.

Keep making the wiki a better place!
