The sidebar was floating because of the position property: position: fixed; which fixes an element so that t doesn't move when you scroll a page. You can read more here. Hope this helps!

Editing other people's talk page messages is a violation of userspace unless there are clear formatting errors that interfere with the topic (which there weren't - outdents aren't even suggested until six indent levels). Admittedly I should have undone that edit rather than rollbacking it. Apologies for that.

According to the Welcome tutorial, it's "6 or 7". Realistically it's just whenever it feels like too many. And outdenting isn't a rule, it's just a suggestion - if you have whatever compelling reason not to outdent, even past 8 indents (though I can't imagine you would), you can just not.

Your "fix" was unnecessary, and the policy applies to formatting issues - i.e. only when the formatting itself is an issue, for example if it affects the readability of the topic.

About the canned summaries...

Is there any way to delete a particular summary? I've given the wrong summary twice trying to delete it...

It's been a long time since I touched that script, but I believe all you can do is delete them all and re-add them. I made it mostly for my own use and that was an acceptable tradeoff at the time.

I don't know if you're using a cron job for that, but that would remove the need to run manually. I don't know if you rather prefer to check it before running, though, given that it's a batch-processing task.

Hello Kenny2scratch! I saw on your userpage you were talking a lot about Dis-cord I don't think that Dis-cord is allowed, because according to the "be safe" rule on the community guidlines it says

Yes, the rule is don't give out any information that could be used for private communication. I did not give out my Discord contact information - I only mention some things I've created that involve it, which in turn do not include contact information.

The Scratch Team pre-emptively remove all references to Discord because they're terrified of someone sharing contact information and subsequently something untoward happening; and because they do not have the resources to more closely police the boundary between mentioning it and actually sharing info.

We have a smaller userbase by virtue of our account request system and can more discretely enforce the difference.

My userpage does not violate rules - however if I had said "my username is notarealusername#0000" or something then that would be "giv[ing] out ... information that could be used for private communication".

Hello Kenny2scratch, I wanted to ask, how did you get those sidebars on the side of your userpage? I tried to create one like yours using user:Kenny2scratch/Sidebox and user:Kenny2scratch/Sidebar and I tested it out in my user:SpaghettiAG852097-/Sandbox but it did not seem to work. I think I probably did something wrong so if you can, could you please tell me what I did wrong?

How do I make a bot account?

You can take a look at the (very shoddy) source code for my own bot that compresses images here. I use the TinyPNG API for image compression and my own MediaWiki API client library (equally shoddy, not meaningfully updated since MW 1.25) for interacting with the Wiki. You may wish to refer to the MediaWiki action API documentation.

Generally, creating new bots on this wiki requires going through the bot request process. We don't approve bots that duplicate other bots' functionality or do tasks easily done by humans.

But if you're intending to make a similar bot for another wiki you contribute to, feel free to refer to the resources I linked above.

1. I do not know Telugu, so I do not have a sample page in Telugu for you. You can take a look at other languages' efforts, such as Turkish.

Page in Scratch Test Wiki needs updating

Blocks in the Test Wiki has not been updated for Scratch 3.0. Because of that problem, I am not able to create Tel:బ్లాక్స్ for Scratch 3.0 Blocks. What do you suggest me to do?

You can directly use the English wiki page instead. Make sure to change links to Tel: pages (and templates to Tel/ templates, etc) as needed.

The Eng: namespace in the Test wiki has been in need of updating for a while; I started working on a bot to continuously update them back in 2018, but I never had the time to finish it.

The "huge files" blocker has to do with both file size and resolution. Looking at the logs, the image you were trying to upload was 2160×1422, which is much larger than the maximum 1920×1080 that we allow. Please reduce the resolution of your image.

I also noticed that you were trying to upload it under the name "UTube.jpeg". Please use more descriptive filenames, such as "Scratch Team YouTube Channel.jpg". Thanks.
