Your Speech

It needs to be shorter. If you want you could copy the source code of Scratch Wiki:Elections/June 2017 into your sandbox and then just test out your speech there using the normal Wiki skin, not the vector skin, and see if it is 8 lines.

Still Shorter

Looking at User:Turkey3/Too Long Speeches the ones in red are too long, yours is coming out to like 10 lines.

It could depend on your computer/browser/font settings. Because when I view something on my phone, for instance, the text is much larger and takes up more lines. So far I've been consistent in judging everything on my same monitor in Google Chrome. In future elections surely we'll do a character count instead. We were thinking of switching to that instead but decided it wouldn't be fair since two people already wrote their speeches.

Not happy with deleting the Scratch Conference Article Stubs

• l'm not happy with deleting the Scratch Conference Articles
• it would have been easy to enlarge it, for a native english speaker and infos are availiele in the web
• l'm not native english so it's exhausting for me + I haven't got the time at the moment.
• Even the knowledge, that this events existed + links + interwikilinks were valuable knowlege that you destroy by deleting those articles
• please consider to change your mind!

How is this possible? How can you be an American Citizen yet born and bred in Hong Kong?

I hold an American passport, and my parents are both American citizens. Therefore, I am also an American citizen. However, I was born and raised in Hong Kong, where I am now, so I am also a Hong Kong citizen. But, let's say if I wanted to run for president, I would be eligible because I am a native-born American.

A little help?

How do I assign the 4 ~'s to my signature? Or must I copy paste?

In Special:Preferences, go to the bottom of the page. It should say "New signature:" then give you a box to type in. In that box, type <scratchsig>Xx_DeathPetal_xX</scratchsig>. Then, check the box that says "Treat signature as wikitext (without an automatic link)". Finally, press Save. From then on, when you type ~~~~ it will be converted into the proper signature and a timestamp. You're done!
By the way, please use "Add Topic" when leaving a new message on a talk page. I had to look for a good five minutes to find this topic. Thanks!

How do I fix my Welcome Template?

So, I just made my Welcome Template, and it looked great. I used the "noinclude" tags and everything on it. When I tested it in my sandbox, it worked as well. However, when I went onto someone's user page and attempted to test it out, it did not work at all, instead looking extremely strange, with the div tags as if they were ABOVE the text, and the rest of the text was below it. ...It works fine. Huh, maybe it's just conflicting code. Oh well, I guess when I'm welcoming people, I won't be using indents. I only tested it on the newest users' account with preview, on the one where I said "I didn't have a template" at which point I made a new comment about it, and said "Now I do!" with the new template, at which point it messed up. I didn't save the edit. EDIT: Didn't save the username either. Also, why is it now in a different font? The <div> tags?

Line breaks are weird in MediaWiki (especially when used with indents); I used <br/> instead. That will work with indents now (tested).

Links

On How to make a clicker game your one link does not exist (the "player" one) and you also link to "game" but "game" is a redirect to Game Projects. Link to the actual article instead of a redirect because that'll help loading times, and make sure the links you make go to stuff that actually exists.
