What is "chicken scratch"?
In the "Random stuff about me" section on your userpage, what is "chicken scratch"?
Jammum (talk | contribs) 13:19, 31 October 2018 (UTC)
- It's a substitute alphabet for English... I don't know where it initially came from. But here's a demonstration:
- Hope that explains it :P
kenny2scratch Talk Contribs Directory 13:32, 31 October 2018 (UTC)- oMG! That's so cool! When someone uses the word chicken scratch here, it means they have messy handwriting! :P
Jakel181 (talk | contribs) 14:00, 31 October 2018 (UTC) - Thanks for explaining! :)
Jammum (talk | contribs) 14:59, 31 October 2018 (UTC)- FYI, by the way, you seem to have missed a guideline shown on my talk page - when referring to me, make sure the name you use matches this regex. (I saw that you called me "Kenny" in two edit summaries. Kenny is especially bad, because it's a triggering memory, but in general make sure the name matches that regex.)
kenny2scratch Talk Contribs Directory 03:32, 1 November 2018 (UTC)- I thought it matched the regex. Plus, what names match the regex (apart from your main one)?
Jammum (talk | contribs) 09:29, 1 November 2018 (UTC)- The following names match the regex:
- Kenny2scratch
- kenny2scratch
- Ken
- ken
- The following name examples do not match the regex:
- Kenny (heaven forbid!)
- Kenny2Scratch (common mistake)
- (By the way, have you seen the style guide? Specifically this one?)

Jammum (talk | contribs) 13:15, 1 November 2018 (UTC)- Off-topicness is okay on user talk pages :)
- My point in linking you there was, when you're replying you're adding a space after the indent, which goes against that guide. I recommend you put your reply right up against the indent in the future, of course except when doing that would make formatting issues.

Bad Word Filter
Can you add the Scratch Wiki BWF to the Enis Wiki. I'll give you bureaucrat permissions.
Whatsfordinner77|💬Talk|🔧Contribs|🐱Scratch 02:02, 2 November 2018 (UTC)
- Actually, the Wiki filter is the forums filter. If you can't figure out how to apply the filter to your wiki, then I suggest you search around.
kenny2scratch Talk Contribs Directory 02:56, 2 November 2018 (UTC)- In the Special:AbuseFilter, it says that you own the filter. It's a MediaWiki wiki, and I'll install AbuseFilter
Whatsfordinner77|💬Talk|🔧Contribs|🐱Scratch 04:23, 2 November 2018 (UTC)- I know it's a MW wiki... if you can install AbuseFilter, you can use it as well. The link I posted shows the regex that our filter uses to look for bad words. I don't have any particular interest in an Enis wiki, though, so I'll leave it to you to figure out how to apply it.
kenny2scratch Talk Contribs Directory 04:27, 2 November 2018 (UTC)- What part? Also, you can test out the BWF. You dont need an account to edit (like WP.)

Whatsfordinner77|💬Talk|🔧Contribs|🐱Scratch 06:19, 3 November 2018 (UTC)- The bad word filter is the following Python expression:

A page from the Enis Wiki
In a previous discussion, you and Whatsfordinner777 were talking about something about the Enis Wiki. Yesterday, I went on it, and I found a page called "Hmmst", which was written by someone anonymous from Hong Kong (where you live). Did you write that page?
Jammum (talk | contribs) 13:33, 3 November 2018 (UTC)
- Indeed I did; I was testing the limits of Whatsfordinner77's permissions.
kenny2scratch Talk Contribs Directory 13:38, 3 November 2018 (UTC)- If you would like open editing disabled for the Enis Wiki, ask Whatsfordinner77 on his SW talk page if they want to do it or not.
Jammum (talk | contribs) 14:10, 3 November 2018 (UTC)- I'm perfectly aware of how to request for open editing to be disabled, thank you. However, I don't think it's necessary, seeing as it's his wiki and he specifically decided to make it open (he said so in the topic above this one).
kenny2scratch Talk Contribs Directory 14:14, 3 November 2018 (UTC)- He didn't make it open edit, I did (I created it) but what I am using to host it (https://meta.miraheze.org/) so far I as I know only allows open ended editing.

How do you change the font in your signature?
I want to change the font in my signature, how do I do it?
KJRYoshi07 (BlueStarPort) (My Talk) (Contribs) 21:44, 3 November 2018 (UTC)
- I'm not ken but I might be able to help. You should use this code: <div style='font-family: "Comic Sans MS or your chosen font here";>Your Siggy here</div>
Jakel181 (talk | contribs) 22:23, 3 November 2018 (UTC)- Not div but span.
Apple502j Talk/Activities 2,243edit 03:59, 4 November 2018 (UTC)- You can change fonts in general using this:
You can also use general font categories like "sans-serif" or "monospace" or "serif" as a font name if you want the default font in that category (usually these are used last as a final fallback).<span style="font-family: 'Font Name', fontname, ...">text in the first font in that list that is available</span>
kenny2scratch Talk Contribs Directory 04:37, 5 November 2018 (UTC)- I can't understand it and it doesn't work.
KJRYoshi07 (BlueStarPort) (My Talk) (Contribs) 09:57, 5 November 2018 (UTC)- Your signature already has a <span> tag around it, so replace the part of your signature that goes
color:red;font-size:15px;
withcolor:red;font-size:15px;font-family:FontName, FontName2, FontCategory;
(replace FontName with the font you want, FontName2 with a font you think most people will have and that looks the closest to FontName, and FontCategory with eitherserif
,sans-serif
, ormonospace
, whichever applies to your preferred font.)
kenny2scratch Talk Contribs Directory 09:49, 6 November 2018 (UTC)- Is comfortaa supported?

It works for me (it shows up as Century Gothic because I don't have Comfortaa). Is "regular" an actual font category?
kenny2scratch Talk Contribs Directory 08:31, 9 November 2018 (UTC)
- It is a category for Comfortaa.
KJRYoshi07 (BlueStarPort) (My Talk) (Contribs) 09:35, 9 November 2018 (UTC)- You've gotten "category" confused with "style". "Comfortaa Regular" means regular as opposed to bold, italic, or a combination of both. Looking at an image of the font, though, it's a sans-serif font. Use "sans-serif" at the end.
kenny2scratch Talk Contribs Directory 09:38, 9 November 2018 (UTC)- Got it now! Thanks! (lol sans serif was the only category I didn't try)

I was wanting to insert a former version of an image on a page in my userspace. I looked at Help:Images but that page mentioned nothing about inserting an archived image into a page. Is it possible? If so, how can it be done?

- FYI, use

. - Well, NightSpeakers has a page that they include: https://test.scratch-wiki.info/w/index.php?title=User:NightSpeakers/Labels&action=edit
- You can copy that code into some user page of your own and use it yourself (but give credit to NightSpeakers in a comment somewhere!)

Regarding Elections for 2019
Hey Kenny,
You may remember me from the Test-SW, where we collaborated on the Chinese Wiki. I now have a question for you: when are we going to hold sysop and EW elections? Speaking of which, a very very belated congratulations on bureaucrat! I did help in transferring the site over, but on a much smaller scale.
I would recommend holding elections in either early 2019 or late 2018; December looks ripe to me.
S-zhangcha (Online) ( talk ) 04:13, 19 November 2018 (UTC)
- Hi, S-zhangcha,
- First off, did you read my talk page guidelines? There's a regex that anything you use to refer to me must match, and "Kenny" does not match it.
- Yes, I remember you from the testwiki.
- For now, there are no plans to hold elections. Elections are not necessarily held at a regular interval; instead, they are held whenever the current admins feel we need more people.
- Bureaucracy was granted because of my work on the transfer, rather than by election, just FYI.
- How did you help in transferring the enwiki? As far as I know, the work was done by Colby (from the ST), myself, and de:User:Akhof.

- Hi, just a few tips before I answer your question:
- New topics go in new sections
- Indent replies to posts by adding colons (:) at the start of each line of your reply
- As to the question: elections are a process where the Wiki community chooses a couple of people to gain extra privileges so that they can help the Wiki in a greater capacity. You can see previous elections here: Scratch Wiki:Elections

12944qwerty (talk | contribs) 18:13, 19 November 2018 (UTC)
- Create User:12944qwerty/Header
- Design your header to your heart's content (Help:HTML for HTML help)
- On all of your userpages (except the header page!) add the text
{{User:12944qwerty/Header}}
to the top
- That's a very condensed series of steps. Ask further if you need elaboration for a step.

Hey, Do you know why my template is not indenting? Example: User_talk:12944qwerty#I_Replied_to_your_post.21
Jakel181 (talk | contribs) 23:47, 19 November 2018 (UTC)
- I fixed it myself. Your template included a newline on the start:
</noinclude> Hi I...
- so when it got transcluded it became:
:: Hi I...
- I fixed it myself by removing the newline between </noinclude> and "Hi".

Idea: AbuseFilter for "kenny"
If someone put[Kk]enny(?!2)on a talk page, they are warned by AbuseFilter.
Apple502j Talk/Activities 2,243edit 15:02, 24 November 2018 (UTC)
- Quick answer. no! There could be others on the wiki fine with the name Kenny. The filter's used for blocking words and phrases inappropriate for Scratch. Not for names people don't like. 15:06, 24 November 2018 (UTC)
- Exactly! We can't include personal preference in the Wiki's main code! You can politely ask them not to, but you can't forcefully stop them, especially with the AbuseFilter.
Daring Sailor [ Talk | Contribs | More... ] 16:03, 24 November 2018 (UTC)- I'd love to, but these people are correct - besides, if I added that I wouldn't be able to say, on my talk page, that "Kenny" is not the right thing to call me. Also it'd be more trouble than it's worth.
