Raspberry Pi
I am gonna switch Tweaker from my Mac to my Raspberry Pi (because that's how you do it)
Krett12 (talk | contribs) 19:25, 24 June 2014 (UTC)
- It will run properly on any Linux/Unix (Mac OS is Unix-based) system with PHP with CLI support properly installed. I believe it will also run on Windows with XAMPP or WAMP.

Very Inspiring Status
^^Now I will feel happy when I'm mad because I expect it.
Turkey3 (talk | contribs) 19:48, 24 June 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks. That first part is the one that gets me the most often.
jvvg (talk | contribs) 19:49, 24 June 2014 (UTC) - It pretty much sums up installing OSes for me.

Archiving
I was just wondering how you archive your own talk page. I don't really want to but, how do you? Sorry, I am a curious person.
-PRO- (talk | contribs) 20:39, 24 June 2014 (UTC)
- Just create a page at User talk:USERNAME/Archive X (X being the number you want), and cut-paste all the discussions you wish to archive onto that page. It is also recommended that you add the {{archive header}} template at the top. Then, you can ask an admin to protect it.
jvvg (talk | contribs) 20:41, 24 June 2014 (UTC)- So just a regular page?
-PRO- (talk | contribs) 11:16, 25 June 2014 (UTC)- Yeah, just create it like a regular page.
jvvg (talk | contribs) 11:19, 25 June 2014 (UTC)

Protect Page
Could you please protect this page for me? Thanks!

WikiMonitor Problem
When I made Scratch Wiki:Tools WM told me on my talk page that I forgot to categorize it, but WM didn't categorize it either!
JayceeMinecraft user | talk | contributions 20:26, 27 June 2014 (UTC)
- WM doesn't categorize pages for you. It just notifies you that you forgot. You need to put it on yourself. How would WM know what categories apply to a page? Using keyword matching would be way too problematic.
jvvg (talk | contribs) 00:59, 28 June 2014 (UTC)- Once when I forgot to categorize a page, someone put the category: Article stubs there, and I looked through the history of the page, and It said nothing about someone adding a category.

Big vocabulary
hehe egregious is a big word but it's weird cause it has two definitions: either really bad or (archaic) really good ;)
KrIsMa user | talk | contribs | edits 16:30, 28 June 2014 (UTC)
- I think in the context in which I used it, it's pretty clear it means really bad.

Edits!!!!!!
You made the 99,999th edit, and I made the 100,000th edit!

Please categorize new pages
[[Category:Name]]
At the bottom of the page. "name" represents the actual category's name. A list can be found here. It may also be helpful to read Help:Categories.

Why?
Why did you delete the template requests page? I liked that page. (Pssst..How do you do a crying face? ). I really would like to know why you deleted it.
Krett12 (talk | contribs) 13:16, 4 July 2014 (UTC)
- Veggie and Sci said it was not necessary.

CP
I completely understand your message, I must've seemed pretty horrible to you. Bye!
Krett12 (talk | contribs) 02:05, 6 July 2014 (UTC)
?
For some reason, I can revert multiple edits (not single edits) like an EW, but I am not one. Seriously, I am not an EW. Why can I do this?
Krett12 (talk | contribs) 13:23, 8 July 2014 (UTC)
- EWs/admins have a feature to revert all edits by the most recent editor to a page in one click. Regular users have to go through more steps. There isn't even a confirm button for us.

I thought you were gonna check back on a tablet on vacation. See you in August? Okay.

Turkey3 (talk | contribs) 01:48, 15 July 2014 (UTC)
- It's going great. I'm still at running camp, and tomorrow I am doing an 8 mile epic mountain run, and my goal is to go so hard I limp for a week week since it's my last really hard run.
jvvg (talk | contribs) 01:57, 15 July 2014 (UTC)- 8 MILES? i can hardly do 3 --- well good luck have fun running 8 miles p/

Welcome Home!
We're glad to have you back ;). I've turned off Tweaker, you can start running WM again. I'll change all the pages.

A little help?
As you may know, I created a Scratch JR Wiki. Would you mind helping me set up the project-style authentication?
Krett12 (talk | contribs) 19:13, 16 August 2014 (UTC)
- Check out User:Jvvg/Authentication and ask me if you have any questions or issues.
jvvg (talk | contribs) 22:10, 16 August 2014 (UTC)- Fatal error: Class 'ConfirmAccountUISetup' not found in /home/scratchj/public_html/wiki/extensions/ConfirmAccount/ConfirmAccount.php on line 42
Krett12 (talk | contribs) 14:09, 17 August 2014 (UTC)- Odd. It worked when I tried setting it up on MediaWiki and when scmb1 set it up on the Scratch Wiki. Try using the code used on the Wiki instead. I now remember I had some issues with Github that might have messed up my code, but the code there is the exact same code used here.

Did it work?
jvvg (talk | contribs) 15:33, 17 August 2014 (UTC)
- Well, I can see the request page, but after clicking the request button, or going to "confirm accounts" it says that there is a database error.
Krett12 (talk | contribs) 15:39, 17 August 2014 (UTC)- Try going into the database and manually deleting the tables "account_requests" and "account_credentials" and then trying again.

phpMyAdmin sees no such tables in the first place. Should I create them?
Krett12 (talk | contribs) 16:06, 17 August 2014 (UTC)
- No, do not create them. What is the error you are getting?
jvvg (talk | contribs) 16:59, 17 August 2014 (UTC)- Wait, wait, wait, if those tables don't exist and the pages exist, it didn't install properly. Try importing the SQL files at [1].

Dream acronym team?
I didn't get it.
Scimonster (talk | contribs) 20:14, 17 August 2014 (UTC)
- jvvg and WM are both acronyms.
jvvg (talk | contribs) 20:16, 17 August 2014 (UTC)- I assume jvvg is an acronym of your name, though i have no idea what the double v could be.

Fat Cow
I checked out the place, here are some dumb quotes,
"Top 10 Reasons our moovelous customers are jumping over the moon for FatCow."
"Udderly Fantastic Web Hosting!"
"Are you a FatCow on a small farm? Mooove your site to the next level!"
"Around the Farm"
And I'll have you know "Bad Cow Pun!" can also be a quote.
Krett12 (talk | contribs) 01:54, 22 August 2014 (UTC)
Acronyms
After I tossed all those FatCow quotes at you, I think I'll toss all of our Wikis acronyms at you (let me know if you don't especially find these lists amusing):
"CP" "WM" "jvvg" "fs" "RC" "EW"
Oh, we don't have as many as I thought we did.

jvvg (talk | contribs) 13:44, 22 August 2014 (UTC)- I'm going to edit the template so it can go even wider.
Krett12 (talk | contribs) 13:48, 22 August 2014 (UTC)- That won't really accomplish anything, but cool.
jvvg (talk | contribs) 13:51, 22 August 2014 (UTC)- So you've now told me twice that's it's both useless and cool :P
Krett12 (talk | contribs) 15:27, 22 August 2014 (UTC)- Yeah, I guess I have. There are a lot of things like that (e.g. the 3D window switcher in Vista and Win7).
jvvg (talk | contribs) 15:28, 22 August 2014 (UTC)- What 3D window switcher? The only machine besides XP that I own is a Mac I keep on 24/7. EDIT: Let's just keep indenting until we can use the huge one.

Wiki Monitor
Earlier I received a report from Wiki Monitor about not signing my post. I had signed my post in the edit pointed towards, but I signed with three tildes, instead of the usual four. Maybe you could update Wiki Monitor to accept these situations as a signed post, or change the message?
ErnieParke (talk | contribs) 22:55, 23 August 2014 (UTC)
- Support.
-PRO- (talk | contribs) 00:19, 24 August 2014 (UTC)- Yeah, wouldn't that be nice? The reason I can't do that is that everybody is that custom signatures ruin everything. The only thing that's constant between signatures is the timestamp, so WM looks for that. Somebody suggested I make it look for the editing user, but there are plenty of cases where that may be included not as the signature. Also, I really don't appreciate people putting "support" on this I take every suggestion to WikiMonitor seriously. If I am unsure of the popularity, I will ask. However, for bugs and issues, saying you support fixing it doesn't do anything. I will either fix it or explain why it is unfixable. Putting "support" doesn't make it more likely that I will fix it, as the real limiting factor is my time availability.
EDIT: Ironically enough, I signed this with 5 tildes by accident.
jvvg (talk | contribs) 01:29, 24 August 2014 (UTC)- I know you put five. I tried to fix but I got edit conflicted. when you did it
Krett12 (talk | contribs) 01:31, 24 August 2014 (UTC)- Also, sorry about the message above sounding a bit harsh. It's just that lately my life has consisted of people telling me I am doing things wrong and never commenting on things I am doing properly.
jvvg (talk | contribs) 01:33, 24 August 2014 (UTC)- What message above?
Krett12 (talk | contribs) 02:53, 24 August 2014 (UTC) - Awww.... I think you're doing great jvvg! Without you, the Scrtch Wiki (and Scratch!) wouldn't be the same. (No, it wasn't harsh.)
- As for the bug... I have an idea on how to fix it jvvg. Instead of just looking for the time stamp, look for the time stamp and <scratchsig> If both don't appear, then there's no signature. Would it work?
- (Agreed, that sounds very ironic! :) )
ErnieParke (talk | contribs) 02:59, 24 August 2014 (UTC)

Yeah, Krett explained the problem. If a user has a custom sig, then I can't look for <scratchsig>. This is part of the reason I voiced my opposition to them earlier.
jvvg (talk | contribs) 11:25, 24 August 2014 (UTC)
- Sorry jvvg. I agree with ErnieParke that the Scratch Wiki would fall aprat because we wouldn't have WikiMonitor and the confirm account. I think you are a very nice human being. Fixed your outdent.

jvvg (talk | contribs) 01:25, 24 August 2014 (UTC)- And how exactly do I download & install this?
Krett12 (talk | contribs) 01:28, 24 August 2014 (UTC)- It is extremely difficult. It took me several weeks to get it working. You can't set it up on a standard web host the way you can set up MediaWiki. It requires very specialized software, which you have to host on your own server equipment.
jvvg (talk | contribs) 01:35, 24 August 2014 (UTC)- Yes, but there is no download button.
Krett12 (talk | contribs) 01:43, 24 August 2014 (UTC)- It's subversion code. You need an svn client. Anyway, seriously, you don't know what you're getting yourself into if you seriously plan on setting this up. It's ridiculously complicated and you have to do everything perfectly (you have to import 20 or so database patches in order while looking at two different date schemes) and then wade your way through the database to change stuff as necessary.
