Bot archives are optional. If you want to clean up your talk page from all the bot messages you've gotten (for example from WikiMonitor (talk | contribs) or another bot, although I think WM is the only one that gives you talk page messages), you can create a Bot Archive to move all your bot messages to. You can create one by clicking this link: User talk:78ch3/Bot Archive

After that, to move a bot message to your bot archive, just copy and paste it to the bot archive and delete it from your normal talk page.

Hi there, Dressygirl! Welcome to the Scratch Wiki, and congrats on your account getting accepted! Here are my tips:

1. You don't have to put "--" before "~~~~" on your posts, though I see no harm in doing so if you'd like to
2. Check out the help pages if you haven't yet. They explain a lot of stuff on the wiki.
3. Use the sandbox to test out formatting and other stuff. The public sandbox gets cleared automatically every few hours by a bot. If you'd like your own sandbox that won't get cleared automatically, you can create one by clicking this link.
4. Make sure to know how to indent on talk pages. If you're wondering how, I told someone else how to in one of my talk archives.
5. If you have any big questions about the wiki or suggestions (or something else relating to the wiki that you want a lot of people to see), you can post in the Community Portal. This is the official main talk page for our wiki. You can also reply to posts there.
6. If you're looking for pages to edit, I recommend random page. You can find it on the navigation bar (to the left) of the wiki.
7. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask! There's a list of Experienced Wikians (people that have been elected by the community to help lead it) here I used a non-internal link because I couldn't figure out how to put one for this page. You use the HTML style attribute. In it, you specify position: fixed; and then left/right/top/bottom: npx;. "left/right/top/bottom" can be left OR right OR top OR bottom, but you need two of them. "n" can be any number.

Your wikian tips page

That looks pretty good! There’s a few problems with it that I have, however:

1. It links to other things “for more information” too much. People don’t want to click more links - have more information on the original page.
2. That external link? Change it to this.
3. The border may need some more redesign - it clashes a little with the skin.
4. The first tip is kinda like accusing them of something they didn’t do - the problem is that the “insert your signature” button in the edit tools bar above the edit box inserts “--~~~~” and not “~~~~”.

Just wanted to give those tips :)

Two more things:

1. You can actually set a title for the box (instead of “extended content”), see the doc since I don’t really remember how.
2. It seems strange that the note about transclusion (“this was transcluded from here”) is outside the collapsed box...

Otherwise, it looks much better!

You can do it using code like

— then just edit your talk page or userpage and add the code! Make sure, when editing the layout and design of your talk page, to mark edits you make with "minor." Then WikiMonitor won't leave you a message about not signing your posts. But when leaving messages regularly on talk pages, you don't need to mark them as minor.[1]

Anyway, you can look at the code of my userpage/talk page by clicking "edit" on the page (just make sure to not submit the edit). You can test stuff out in the sandbox, just keep in mind it gets cleared (there's info about that on the page).
