Discord
Done -- you aren't allowed to link to private communication methods on Scratch
The Scratch Wiki has a discord room now! To join, just go here, click the link, sign up (or log in if you already have discord), click the button, follow instructions, and you should be good once an admin changes your display name!

- I know...I was pondering it...but look at this: https://scratch.mit.edu/users/Paddle2See/#comments-35490854
bigpuppy talk ▪︎ contribs 13:49, 28 June 2017 (UTC)- Hmm...
kenny2scratch Talk Contribs Directory 13:51, 28 June 2017 (UTC)- I was just wondering 'cause usually stuff like Discord isn't allowed on Scratch, but I thought it was okay because it was made by wiki administration. I wanted to ask Paddle just to make sure.
bigpuppy talk ▪︎ contribs 13:54, 28 June 2017 (UTC)- Well it's shut down now... thanks...

- Hmm...
It's okay, you were following the guidelines... However, it doesn't change the fact that I'm annoyed something that actually let me talk to people here in real time got shut down two days after it started. So much so that I am seriously considering making something similar but without the guideline-breaking bits. But I don't blame you.
kenny2scratch Talk Contribs Directory 14:13, 30 June 2017 (UTC)
- Okay, glad you aren't mad at me. That actually would be cool, if you made that just for the Scratch Wiki -- But you'd have to have someone that the Scratch Team approves of moderate it.
bigpuppy talk ▪︎ contribs 17:48, 30 June 2017 (UTC) - Ken, just letting you know that you would probably majorly waste your time if you spent a lot of time making something, I'm almost definite it would not both not be allowed to be used and/or we admins wouldn't want to use it anyway.
18:38, 30 June 2017 (UTC)- I was thinking of something that has maybe the same filter the forums have, and with more moderation capabilities, but no direct messages. I'm pretty sure that would be okay.
kenny2scratch Talk Contribs Directory 23:13, 30 June 2017 (UTC)- Well, you'd definitely have to ask the Scratch Team etc. just so if you did make that, all your hard work wouldn't go to waste if they said no.
bigpuppy talk ▪︎ contribs 00:03, 1 July 2017 (UTC)- And by asking them I mean asking them before you made it (if you did).
bigpuppy talk ▪︎ contribs 00:04, 1 July 2017 (UTC)- I doubt anything like that is going to be allowed, even if you do disable private messaging. Similar things have been rejected in the past because the ST cannot and wont waste their time moderating outside places like that.
Hamish752 (talk | contribs) 02:22, 1 July 2017 (UTC)- I wasn't saying the ST would moderate it... a) there would be a filter and b) it would probably be moderated the same way the Wiki is: by the admins.

The Scratch Team would have to moderate it, that's the only option, and I second that they're busy and wouldn't go out of their time to moderate it. They would not solely entrust non-ST members to moderate it because they want "professional adult moderators" (that's an exact quote from an ST member I found on the forums).

- Whoops, didn’t see this. Ah well, at least I haven’t started working on it.

Removal of Discuss Link from Header
Instead of adding an image (which is probably not needed, it's not necessarily a huge part of the controversy), like you said on Recent Changes, I just uploaded an image and used that as a citation to keep everything organized. You can edit use that as an image if you'd like, though. Is it OK that I used my current signature for that? There's no way to tell who's post it is because I thoroughly edited it with Inspect Element.
WolfCat67 (talk | contribs) 18:54, 6 July 2017 (UTC)
- I saw it. Yes, good idea. Yeah, that isn't a big part of the controversy. I think you did the right thing.

Making A Link
How do you make a link? I know, I know, dumb question xD
Evan2963 (talk | contribs) 22:24, 12 July 2017 (UTC)Evan2963
- To make a link to anywhere on the web, do this:
- [<url here> <link title here>]
- To make a link to anywhere on the Scratch Wiki, do this:
- [[<insert name of page here>|<insert link title here>]]
- To make a link to anywhere on Wikipedia, do this:
- [[Wikipedia:<insert name of Wikipedia page here>|<insert link title here>]]
- And I don't think it's a dumb question -- everyone has to start somewhere.

Hey
Done -- you aren't allowed use private communication methods on Scratch
I’d like to invite you, one more time, to the discord chat - this time we won’t have to link to it.
Instead, if you give me your discord username#xxxx, I will add you as a friend and send you the invite link in a DM.
Want to join?

- Hi there!
- As far as I know, using private communication methods isn't allowed on Scratch unfortunately--
- I'm not going to join, sorry.
bigpuppy talk ▪︎ contribs 00:02, 19 August 2017 (UTC)- By the way, nice new bot!!
bigpuppy talk ▪︎ contribs 00:02, 19 August 2017 (UTC)- Meh, it’s alright if you don’t join - though it might give you some context as to things that happened.
- Thanks! I’m just waiting for scmb1 to change its usergroup to bot :)
kenny2scratch Talk Contribs Directory 00:04, 19 August 2017 (UTC)- I feel like I've missed a lot on the Scratch Wiki -- I've been doing other things (Scratch Camp: Down Deep, giving people feedback on their Front Page Curator applications, etc.) How have things been around here?
bigpuppy talk ▪︎ contribs 00:21, 19 August 2017 (UTC)- Well, six templates (stub, expand, wiki standards, inaccurate, broken, outdated) got messed around with by me for a bit, until finally I settled on a final design which simply had the extra date parameter, which would be added automatically .
- My bot got accepted (obviously), and now I’m waiting for scmb1 to change its usergroup to bot.
- Discord was soft-restarted - now you join with your discord tag, instead of following the link.
- and that should be it.

Wanna use my bot archiver userscript?

- No -- I'm fine with doing it manually. But thanks!

Hi there!
Hello!
PegasusHT (talk | contribs) 18:36, 24 August 2017 (UTC)
I have a question,How Do I make an article?
PegasusHT (talk | contribs) 20:47, 24 August 2017 (UTC)
- Type something into the search bar, then click the red link. Just make sure your page fits the New Page Policies.
- P.S.: When talking on a talk page, please indent link I've been doing so the conversation is more readable. You can do it like this:
- Hello!
- :Hello!
- ::Hello!
- :::Hello!
- ::::Hello!
- :::::Hello!
- ::::::Hello!
- :::::::Hello!
- After a lot of :, you can do {{outdent|<insert number of previous : here>}} instead of :, then the whole thing starts all over again.
bigpuppy talk ▪︎ contribs 21:04, 24 August 2017 (UTC)
Yep
bigpuppy talk ▪︎ contribs 14:30, 26 August 2017 (UTC)
- How did you do that?
PegasusHT (talk | contribs) 22:58, 26 August 2017 (UTC)- She used the {{outdent}} command. Just type that in (without the nowiki commands) and it will automatically outdent whatever you are saying. I usually tell it how many spaces to outdent like this {{outdent|(# here)}}. You usually outdent after seven or eight replys

Talk Archive Dates
The date on your first archive shows up as a link to a phone number on iPhones! (Just letting you know, you should add an extra space or something)
