I think that worked?
I just created an archive of my talk page. I think it worked. Well, anyway, you can start posting on this one now.

Please don't make several edits in a short amount of time
WikiMonitor (talk | contribs) 19:08, 26 March 2017 (UTC)
- Sorry, Mr. Bot! But it was my sandbox... But even though it was I'll try not to do it in the future.
bigpuppy talk ▪︎ contribs 19:12, 26 March 2017 (UTC)- Yeah, you should be careful. Somebody could be on your sandbox and not understand why it was changing :P Yeah, the WikiMonitor could use some changes.
Duckboycool (talk | contribs) 01:24, 27 March 2017 (UTC)- xD
bigpuppy talk ▪︎ contribs 23:12, 27 March 2017 (UTC)- Sandbox edits can still clog up recent changes if you make too many, so they are still covered under this rule. Although the sandbox is a place to try stuff out, you are still expected to use "Show preview" when possible rather than saving and re-editing repeatedly.

a question
so, thanks for ur welcome! I have a question. I see people replying to others. How do you do that?
Thank you!
ski- (talk | contribs)
- Hi there ski-! You reply to others by clicking the pencil icon in the top-right of the page, then clicking "edit." After that find the person you'd like to reply to, add the right number of :'s - the first person doesn't add any, the second person adds one, third adds two, fourth adds three, and so on. Then you type what you'd like to say and sign it with ~~~~. You click save page and there you go! Here is an example conversation for you that is fake:
- =====================================================================================================================================
- Yo guys!
Example User 1 (talk | contribs)- Why hello there!
Example User 2 (talk | contribs)- Howdy!
Example User 3 (talk | contribs)- Are you guys having fun?
Example User 1 (talk | contribs)- I sure am!
Example User 2 (talk | contribs)- Same!
Example User 1 (talk | contribs)
- Same!
- I sure am!
- Are you guys having fun?
- Howdy!
- Why hello there!
- Wow, there was enough conversation for an outdent!
Example User 3 (talk | contribs)- Goodbye.
Example User 2 (talk | contribs)
- Goodbye.
- =====================================================================================================================================
- And here is the code for that example conversation:
- Yo guys!<scratchsig>Example User 1</scratchsig>
- :Why hello there!<scratchsig>Example User 2</scratchsig>
- ::Howdy!<scratchsig>Example User 3</scratchsig>
- :::Are you guys having fun?<scratchsig>Example User 1</scratchsig>
- ::::I sure am!<scratchsig>Example User 2</scratchsig>
- :::::Same!<scratchsig>Example User 1</scratchsig>
- {{outdent}}Wow, there was enough conversation for an outdent!<scratchsig>Example User 3</scratchsig>
- :Goodbye.<scratchsig>Example User 2</scratchsig>
- So yeah! Simple, right? Hope I helped, have a great day!

Your sidebar
Hi, bigpuppy! I saw you made a sidebar like mine and customhacker's. There's a few changes I'd recommend you make:
- Since it's on the left, try not to let it cover page content. Right now, I can see about half of your talk page, and messages at the bottom are completely hidden.
- Something is cut off at the bottom. If you want it to be shown, you probably need to decrease the size of that image.
I'm seeing this here. My resolution is 1366×768 and I'm on Chrome. Thanks!
kenny2scratch Talk Contribs Directory 06:25, 13 June 2017 (UTC)
- By the way, it's not really acceptable to say "don't edit below here" because "Add Topic" will add it at the bottom no matter what. I've moved this above it, but could you please fix your sidebar so that its transclusion code can be put anywhere? Thanks.
kenny2scratch Talk Contribs Directory 06:30, 13 June 2017 (UTC)- Thanks for the tips...It's probably cut off because you're using the vector skin? It doesn't cover page content for me. Also, what is a transclusion code? Sorry, I'm really a newbie at this stuff and I just look at other people's code to learn stuff
bigpuppy talk ▪︎ contribs 14:02, 13 June 2017 (UTC)- There - is it better now? I changed the width a bit. I found out what a transclusion code is, but how do make it so I can put it anywhere?
bigpuppy talk ▪︎ contribs 14:10, 13 June 2017 (UTC)- I have a header on every one of my userpage and user talk pages. When I added the sidebar, I simply put the transfusion code into the header itself (look at User:Kenny2scratch/Header, near the end of the onlyinclude). You still need to fix the sidebar so that stuff can be put underneath it, especially on talk pages as "add topic" puts the topic at the end.
- Yes, I'm using the vector skin. It still stretches slightly into page content, but that's much better. Thanks!
kenny2scratch Talk Contribs Directory 14:30, 13 June 2017 (UTC)- By the way, the S in my username is not capitalized (I'm looking at your edit summaries). Thanks!
kenny2scratch Talk Contribs Directory 14:32, 13 June 2017 (UTC)- 1. Oh, I see. But when I add it to my header all of the text in my pages below my header disappears. How do I fix that?
- By the way, the S in my username is not capitalized (I'm looking at your edit summaries). Thanks!

- Fixed it. You didn't close two div's and a center.
- Thanks.
No problem! I like helping out (though I really wouldn't consider you a newbie).

I've finally joined!
Thanks for suggesting for me to join the wiki; I've been accepted! :D

- That came close to an edit conflict with me :P. Oops! It did, after all, when you added your signature...
kenny2scratch Talk Contribs Directory 04:11, 15 June 2017 (UTC)
How do you create the "leave me a message" box?
Just a quick question. I can see it on your sidebar and on the top of your talk page. Thanks!
WolfCat67 (talk | contribs) 22:54, 15 June 2017 (UTC)
- Here's the code for it:
- <inputbox>
- type=comment
- default=User talk:bigpuppy
- hidden=no
- buttonlabel=Leave me a message!
- </inputbox>
- So if you wanted one for yourself, and wanted it to be exactly like mine, this is what you'd need to do:
- <inputbox>
- type=comment
- default=User talk:WolfCat67
- hidden=no
- buttonlabel=Leave me a message!
- </inputbox>
- And of course you could change the label, etc.
- If you'd like to see how another thing of mine works, you could always click "edit" and look at it (but make sure not to save!! ), I mean that's what I do to find out how other people's things work on the wiki.

How do you do the sidebar thing?

- Take a look at mine: User:Kenny2scratch/Sidebar. It contains the code. shameless self-promotion...

My Opinion
I think it sounds better without the word "now". https://wiki.scratch.mit.edu/w/index.php?title=Scratch_Suggestions&curid=1899&diff=166618&oldid=166417

- How about something like "Now, you can visit the Suggestions forum to discuss ideas"?
bigpuppy talk ▪︎ contribs 16:25, 21 June 2017 (UTC)- Also, shouldn't we talk about this on the talk page of Scratch Suggestions?

My new Welcome Template
Hey bigpuppy. Thanks for all your help with creating my own welcome template! Here is the finished template, I hope you like it!
Welcome to the Scratch Wiki!
Hey there! Welcome to the Scratch Wiki, Bigpuppy! We are glad that you've decided to join us here! I'm Daring_Sailor, and I'm here to answer any questions or queries you might have about the Wiki. You can message me on my Talk Page if you need help with anything on the Wiki, have a question you want to ask, or just to chat!
If you want to find pages to edit, then you could look at Articles to expand or Article stubs to find pages that you can improve. Alternatively, you could have a look at Innacurate articles to find places to add references. I also get my own inspiration from Special:Random.
Have great time on the Wiki! Hope to see you around making some great edits! Bye for now, Bigpuppy!

Cυƨтσмнαcκεя ( тαʟκ | cσптяıв ) 18:34, 21 June 2017 (UTC)- Ok...
Drunken_Sailor (talk | contribs) 18:37, 21 June 2017 (UTC)- That doesn't really answer the question... what in the name of Schrödinger's cat does gniess mean?
kenny2scratch Talk Contribs Directory 03:03, 22 June 2017 (UTC)- It looks great! I don't know what @Customhacker means about making it more personalized... It looks very personalized to me! Well, thanks for making a personal welcome template! First @kenny2scratch, then @Customhacker, then me, then you! It's awesome! I'm glad I could help.

I have a question
How do wiki editors find out when there is a new wiki editor?
--
Erosek (talk | contribs) 21:37, 22 June 2017 (UTC)
- Usually, we look in Recent Changes as it tells us when a new account page is created.
Drunken_Sailor (talk | contribs)- Yes, you just need to look for the words "(User creation log)", or you can use CTRL-F/CMD-F and type in User Creation Log.

Custom Signature Question
I was attempting to make a make a custom signature, but I was running into a problem of it making a new line when used in two or more indents. I have looked at the formatting of other signatures, and read the wiki guide on them, but I was not sure exactly what I did wrong. If you would look at it here, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Duckboycool (talk | contribs)
- Oh gosh I think I had a similar problem I'll try playing around with it, can't remember how I fixed it.
03:17, 23 June 2017 (UTC) - Put your <span> right next to where your image code ends and it'll work.
03:19, 23 June 2017 (UTC)- Or, alternatively, replace any spaces ( ) you might be using with {{nbsp}} ( ). That will prevent the sig from line-breaking.
kenny2scratch Talk Contribs Directory 03:38, 23 June 2017 (UTC)- Or, you know, maybe not have a line break in the code itself?! (
[[File:Your picture]] <span>

kenny2scratch Talk Contribs Directory 03:41, 23 June 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks! I did the first two things, but I didn't know where you meant with the line break actually being there... Either way, it works fine now.

- Thanks! I did the first two things, but I didn't know where you meant with the line break actually being there... Either way, it works fine now.
- There's still a problem though. Could you please:
- Create a page called User:Duckboycool/minisig
- Have its content be
{{User:Duckboycool/Signature}}
- Set your signature to
{{User:Duckboycool/minisig}}
in Special:Preferences
You're done! This will SIGNIFICANTLY reduce the size of your signature. The signature I'm replying to was over 500 bytes!
kenny2scratch Talk Contribs Directory 13:49, 23 June 2017 (UTC)
- I was going to answer this, but kenny2scratch has got it covered. I learned about the minisig idea from kenny2scratch anyway so thanks kenny2scratch!
bigpuppy talk ▪︎ contribs 14:43, 23 June 2017 (UTC)- I only learned about this from Scratch Wiki:Custom Signatures anyway... no-one else looked at that when making their csigs?

I was thinking of using the code from your message button for my own talk page, and I just wanted to make sure that that was fine with you.
