Brief description: | "Discuss things you are creating or exploring outside of Scratch, like art, music, programming languages, or crafts." |
The Things I'm Making and Creating forum (commonly abbreviated MaC or TIMaC) is a forum in the Scratch Discussion Forums where Scratchers can discuss what that they are working on outside of Scratch.
Before the Things I'm Making and Creating forum existed, there was another forum called the Miscellaneous forum. This was a forum where users could say almost whatever they wanted as long as it followed the Community Guidelines. But this forum became very hard to moderate, with many users misusing it, so it was removed, and replaced with two forums: The Things I'm Making and Creating forum, and another forum called the Things I'm Reading and Playing forum. Both of these forums came with new rules to make sure that they would not be as difficult to moderate as the Miscellaneous forum.
What the Forum Contains
The forum is for topics that discuss projects not necessarily related to Scratch. These include:
- Projects written in other programming languages
- Physical structures made in real life
- Websites
- Stories
- Art sharing
- User-created music sharing (must follow the Community Guidelines)
- Emoticons for use on the forums[1]
- Building Things on Certain Websites

The forum is rather active; many Scratchers enjoy sharing what they have made and viewing work from others. It tends to be slightly less active than the Things I'm Reading and Playing forum,[citation needed] although it originally was the more active of the two.[citation needed] The forum was home to the Scratch-team run directory of member-created websites, which is currently still hosted within this forum. However, as of June, 2020 the Scratch Team has chosen to change its moderation practices with regard to member-created websites and therefore does not require Scratchers to register.
This forum is prone to unrelated topics for testing and posting YouTube links[2][3] which are usually closed or deleted by a forum moderator because they do not fit the purpose of the forum.[4] A guide topic was made explaining that test topics are not allowed in the forum.[5]
Some users may mistake this forum for an off-topic category, and make topics for chatting with other users.[6]
