Unrelated to Scratch

This is very vaguely related to Scratch, with only about one sentence related to Scratch.
SuperSmashScratch (talk | contribs) 20:22, 29 May 2014 (UTC)

Yeah, I agree. This should be either deleted or better explained how it is related to Scratch.
jvvg (talk | contribs) 20:29, 29 May 2014 (UTC)
I meant one section, sorry XD But anyway, it only has two things on it that relate to Scratch: MP3's and WAV's.
SuperSmashScratch (talk | contribs) 20:41, 29 May 2014 (UTC)
Maybe we should really talk a lot about the construction and format of WAV files since it is what Scratch only uses. Knowing how a wave file is saved in binary contributes to your knowledge of how a WAV file can increase the file size of a project. It can also contribute to what bit rate one should choose for a project based on the size. Don't delete it, it just needs some editing.

I don't think that that would make it still not too related to Scratch, as it has a lot of formats that Scratch cannot and will not use.
SuperSmashScratch (talk | contribs) 20:16, 30 May 2014 (UTC)
This information should be moved to the Sound Editor page.

I don't think this page should be moved to the Sound Editor page. For example, Vector Graphics and Raster Graphics aren't a part of the Paint Editor article, even though they're still related. Plus, the two articles cover different topics. Sound Editor covers uses of Scratch's sound editor, while Sound File Format covers the different file formats of sounds, and how it applies to Scratch.

Should This Be Deleted?

This is a place to discuss that.

Remove Delete Template?

I've been working a bit on tying this article back to Scratch, and I think I've done a good job. So the question becomes, do we need the delete template anymore? Of course, if you have any ideas for tying this article back to Scratch even more, they would be appreciated!
ErnieParke (talk | contribs) 20:15, 13 June 2014 (UTC)

I see no need for deletion. Sounds are an important part of projects, and people may very well want some information on what Scratch can read.
Turkey3 (talk | contribs) 20:33, 13 June 2014 (UTC)
Okay, I removed the delete template!
ErnieParke (talk | contribs) 21:03, 13 June 2014 (UTC)
Good job, ErnieParke!
SuperSmashScratch (talk | contribs) 21:17, 13 June 2014 (UTC)
Thank you @SuperSmashScratch! I appreciate that.

You're welcome.

"Formats" are too technical

Title, the {{not useful}} was added by me Lovecodeabc Links: talk page | scratch profile | contributions 17:43, 1 December 2020 (UTC)

If any section is not useful, I think it is 2.2 "Other"
Mlcreater (talk | contribs) 00:49, 2 December 2020 (UTC)
I agree with Mlcreater; I don't think we would need a section of formats that are not supported by Scratch.
About the formats section, I still think it is useful, but I think it should be cleaned up a bit and be made easier to read.

Is it easier to read now? Difference: https://en.scratch-wiki.info/w/index.php?title=Sound_File_Format&type=revision&diff=267659&oldid=267654

Not Needed Section

I don't think that the "List of Formats>Other" section is needed because it doesn't relate to scratch.

Bump.

Could be trimmed

The majority of the article isn't directly linked to scratch, so I think it could be shortened, leaving only relevant topics behind..
