Move/Merge Discussion

I think Finding the Median of Numbers and Finding the Mode of Numbers should be merged into this article, which should be renamed Finding the Average of Numbers, replacing that redirect. They are all averages, and the "see also" template is already used, so why can't they just be one article?

No No support. Technically these are "measures of central tendency", because "average" is an ambiguous term (referring either to the mean or all measures of central tendency). And when we have ambiguity, we disambiguate! The "see also" and "redirect" templates and the disambiguation page together provide a good system of links to one another. Merging the three articles would create a single unnecessarily cluttered page that you have to scroll through to find the specific measure you're looking for.

I've added {{about}} templates on the median and mode pages to make it more immediately clear which central tendency you're reading about.

Yes Support. I don't think that after merging articles, it'd be really difficult nor time consuming to find the one you're looking for, nor would the page look unnecessarily cluttered.

I've added {{merge}} templates on this page. Also, Yes Support, and it's been a while since this was touched.

While I do think having them both on the same page would make it easier to clarify the difference between median and mean, I strongly disagree that they are similar enough to be mergable. I'm not sure whether it's a good idea to have them on one page or not. I also don't think that the mode can be described as an "average".
