Suggestions

Because Krett12 is working on this and I don't want to interfere, I'm going to suggest a few things here that should be included in the finished article:

  • Mention whitespace (any whitespace or other stuff added to the comment will mess it up, this also means you can't say something like "This is my code: qarsefa9w345asedra")
  • Mention superdynamic IPs (a term I made up to describe ISPs that switch IPs extremely frequently, like the one I had at my school that kept switching between two different addresses)
  • The changing every month thing actually isn't why I chose it. I chose that because it's something that's extremely unlikely to change between the time the user opens and submits the form

Also, a little more on the technical details: in the original version of the comment verification system (the one used on Mod Share), the codes were completely random and stored in session data on the server. However, at the time I wrote the Wiki version, I was not familiar with how to do that on the MediaWiki architecture, so I just used details that would be persistent between requests.

I mentioned the whitespace. Also, my router switches between two IPs. And for the third one, it's the easiest explanation.

Your router switching IPs doesn't matter. The server doesn't see your local IP address. It only sees your "global" one (the one your ISP assigns).

Please change the thing on routers switching IPs. As I said, it doesn't matter if the router switches IPs. It only matters if the ISP does.

I'm not talking about the local one. I mean that my router has a system where it has TWO networks, and switches them around like puzzle pieces to help get faster internet.
