There are several pages that should not have a corresponding April Fools' Day page for various reasons.
List of Namespaces
- Any talk namespace other than the Community Portal and its subpages other than archives (users are unlikely to see these in the first place and it's important we still maintain the ability to use talk pages easily)
- Any Special: page (impossible to replace the contents with AF equivalents)
- Any MediaWiki: page (only admins can edit these pages and they might be very difficult to replace with AF equivalents)
- Any File: page (likely impossible to replace a non-joke file using the April Fools' templates, upload a separate file for a joke equivalent of a file)
- Any Category: page (unlikely to be seen and could interfere with the non-joke category)
List of Specific Pages
- Scratch Wiki:Guidelines (it's important that we still have the Wiki guidelines in effect and that people can still look at them without any confusion if needed, even if on April Fools' day)
- Scratch Wiki:Become a contributor, Scratch Wiki:Flawed Article, and Scratch Wiki:Why was my request rejected? (we do not want to confuse new users who are requesting accounts on April Fools' Day)
- Any page Scratch Wiki namespace related to April Fools (such as this page or Scratch Wiki:April Fools so that editors can still see easily the rules on April Fools' Day)
- Any of the subsections of the main page (instead just edit the relevant section in the April Fools version of the main page itself)
- Any redirect in any namespace (they are not considered pages)
- Any April Fools page that has already been created (an April Fools page of an April Fools page is not allowed)
- Any page which does not exist or has been deleted (such pages cannot be accessed outside the April Fools prefix)
