Scratch Week 2025, the fifth Scratch Week, began on May 12th and ended on May 16th to celebrate Scratch's 18th birthday. Like other Scratch Weeks, each day was represented by a studio on the Featured Studios section of the Front Page.[1] Scratch has done this for the last few years as a way to celebrate with the community.
Themes
Day 1 (Monday, May 12th)
The Great Avatar Make-Off: From silly faces to fabulous outfits, magically styled creatures to the world's best dressed foods, this is your chance to show off your unique style and create customizable characters!
Day 2 (Tuesday, May 13th)
Mini-Game Madness: Whether it's a zany obstacle course, a one-button carnival game challenge, or a goofy game with surprise twists, we can't wait to see what kind of mini-games you will create.
Day 3 (Wednesday, May 14th)
Tera Takeover: Imagine a world where Scratch Cat swaps places with Tera, becoming the new face of Scratch. What sorts of changes might we see with Tera as our mascot? Would Tera change the rules, launch new trends, or throw a giant dance party on the homepage? Now’s your chance to explore a topsy-turvy Scratch universe led by one of our most expressive and energetic friends!
Day 4 (Thursday, May 15th)
Pixel Playground: Today's studio is all about pixel art, classic game vibes, and creative storytelling using tiny blocks of color. Whether you're designing your own sprites sprites or making a game that looks like it's straight out of the '80s, this studio is for you!
Day 5 (Friday, May 16th)
Surprise Party: We need your help to make this final day of Scratch Week a success. We’re throwing a surprise birthday bash for Scratch and you’re invited to the party planning team! Whether you want to design decorations, animate a big “Surprise!” moment, or build games and gifts for the celebration, this is your chance to help pull off the ultimate Scratch birthday party. Let’s all help make this birthday one to remember!
