Brief description: "A place to store codes from projects that let Scratchers resume play or show a design they have made."

The Project Save & Level Codes forum is a forum in the Scratch Discussion Forums where Scratchers can post save codes from projects. The forum was created on February 14th, 2022, but was not released to the public until August 8th, 2022.[1]

Content

This forum was made for topics where users post save codes for a certain project. A save code is a string of characters that can be loaded into a project. They are often used for replays, saving progress in a game, and sharing creations from a project.

History

The idea for this forum was first suggested in September 2020.[2] However, the Scratch Team was inspired to create the forum by a later, similar suggestion,[3] and had first internally discussed the possibility of creating the forum in May 2021[4]. Before this forum was created, users often posted topics for save codes in the Show and Tell forum. After the forum was made public, many preexisting save code topics were moved there.[5]

I recall discussing it with Scratch Team members around May 2021 when this suggestion was posted. That was more or less just the beginning of discussion; I played no role in actually getting it implemented." post:6515413
