Unlike Scratch, many text-based programming languages are executed using a terminal, a program that executes typed commands. Scratch's method of output is the say () which is graphical.

A terminal can be mocked by creating a list and stretching it to cover the entire stage. However, inputting content using the ask () and wait block is still graphical and all code will have to be done in the Code tab.

Adding text can be done using the add [text] to [list v] block (replacing 'list' with the name of the list used as the mock terminal and 'text' with the desired content) and clearing can be done with the delete all of [list v] block.
