This article or section documents something not included in the current version of Scratch (3.0). It is only useful from a historical perspective. |
The Android Scratch Player allowed Scratch projects to be run on a device with Android OS. It was being developed by ZeroLuck, a Scratcher.
Scratch 3.0 has its own Scratch player for mobile devices, so work on this has been discontinued.
Problems
As the player was still in alpha version, there were some major problems and bugs.
- The app closed if one rotated the device
- Not all blocks were supported
- Projects needed to be manually converted by the developer
- The player ran too fast on tablets and too slow on small Androids.
These were only some of the major problems and bugs — there could have been many more minor bugs.
